I am thinking about trapping beaver with wire snares this winter but have never done it. My concern is that I may not have enough time to check the trap often enough. My question: how often should you check the traps? Once a day, once week or ???

To be legal every three days. Look in the regs, i don't remember if there is something different about under ice. Everyday for none killing sets, and 36 hour for killing sets. I try to go everyday, but sometimes every other, i don't want my traps plugged with animals and missing others.

Snares have to be checked daily, unless they are under water.
