See you there.

p.s.
If you're watching the news of the protest and you see a guy not carrying a sign, that's me.

After I made my last post, I checked out that link Kidd.

Some of that stuff truly made me laugh out loud. Protestor finishing school? 24hr a day legal service to provide support for people being released from jail?

Yea, I agree with the tea party dtro, but that was a whole different age ago. I still don't see what getting arrested and getting a record will get you outside of a harder time finding a job when you do get out of school. I'm not saying you can't be against it and you should voice your opinion about what you don't like. But becoming a pain in the butt doesn't get you anywhere and you cause more harm to your cause than anything. I also laugh at the list you put and it's funny that they have people to get you out of jail, so they are saying to make a jerk out of yourself and get arrested.

Cuff 'em, stuff 'em in a C-5, issue them a parachute and march them off the ramp over sunny eastern Afghanastan, or beautiful Iraq.

Surely all their love and message of peace will make great strides in making friends and healing broken relationships.

I know, me too. Kinda posted that tounge in cheek. I will say however, I will be marching, civilly, in protest to both the War and the condition of our economy.

Yes it was, that's why no one is dumping tea in the Mississippi.

Gandhi and MLK's nonviolent protests were pretty important. Domestic protest and public sentiment eventually forced the U.S. to withdraw its troops from Vietnam. UFW strikes led by Cesar Chavez changed national farm labor policies.

Protestors are, in general, very annoying. However, I wouldn't just dismiss them or round them up and send them to war. I still think they have their place in history in making changes. I don't think one can split hairs between the spirit of protest in 1773 Boston Harbor and other protests happening today...they are all designed to bring about changes in one way or another. If anything its a little disappointing that this country has so much political apathy. It seems as though many just take things lying down. Things have sure changed in forty years.

I wonder.....were those paid professional protesters bussed in from other States as well ??

No busses in 1775, they were "buggied" in from the other states and it was a logistical nightmare.

It would get you three hots and a cot.

Protesting a political convention scares the un-decided voters. At least for me.

One man's opinion here. The independents decide the elections. Extremism scares independents. So essentially the protesters hurt their own cause.

I would agree. As a moderate I enjoy the extremes of both sides as they make me laugh.

The right to protest is what makes this country what it is. No matter how ridiculous. The worse the situation, the greater the crowd.
