How Much Movement To Ice Walleyes

The fishing has been good here in the Detroit Lakes area. The Walleye bite
has been good on many area lakes.
The key is to be mobile, not neccesarily
moving every half hour or so, but instead of pounding the same part of a
bar, sunken island, break, or whatever kind of spot your fishing everyday
move a little further down the bar or break.
Personally I like to get setup
on a spot for walleyes fairly early before say the "late afternoon bite"
get my holes drilled and all set up with my portable and tip up and I'm
ready to go.
A lot has been said recently about always being on the move,
but sometimes I find with walleyes that the less racket up on top the
better the bite is down below. Always on the move isn't always the most
productive way.
What I will do on walleyes though is move a little each
day, sometimes not very far and I really increase my catch rate.
Remember
if you are pulling walleyes from a particular spot and the bite slows over
the next few days, its time to move down the "road" just a ways.
Don't give
up on the first spot, after a few days other walleyes will move into that
area.
I also like having my Finicky Fish Factory tipup set up in a
little deeper water, as it has really been productive as those walleyes
move shallower and then back deeper.
Just a little tip that has worked for me over the years.
